This increase is driven by digital advertising growth, which accounted for 53.6% of ad spend this year and will likely continue its fast growth pace in 2017 at 11.7%.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15140 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe.png\" alt=\"Europe\" width=\"666\" height=\"643\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe.png 666w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-300x290.png 300w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-421x406.png 421w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-311x300.png 311w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-518x500.png 518w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-228x220.png 228w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-476x460.png 476w, https:\/\/www.exoclick.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Europe-251x242.png 251w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s second largest advertiser, China, is set to reach $81.8bn in ad spend this year. TV commands much of that share, with digital ranking a close second. Mobile has pushed digital spending to 47.1% in 2016 which is due to a high number of Chinese smartphone users, mobile\u2019s share of digital will reach 34% of total digital ad spend in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The data also revealed that India is quickly moving from mobile-first to mobile-only and so spending here is likely to reach 35% by next year.<\/p>\n<p>The explosion of online video ad spend has increased globally at 41.3% this year and is expected to rise a further 32.8% in 2017.
